Prince of Peace
"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."
Luke 2:14, NIV
Peace ~ eirene: peace, tranquility, repose, calm; harmony, accord.
Denotes a state of untroubled, undisturbed well-being. Such a state of peace is the object of divine promise and is brought about by God's mercy, granting deliverance and freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as a result of sin. (from Key Word Study Bible)
Christ came to bring us peace ...
"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6, NIV
.. and that peace is deliverance. Freedom from the sin that binds us. Christ came to break the chains that sin has on our lives.
This freedom-peace cannot be created or sustained by man ... only God, in His mercy and love, can give us this precious peace.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:7, NIV
Inexplicable, unimaginable peace ... beyond our understanding ... protecting us.
A tiny baby ... heralded by angels.
Brings peace ...
freedom ...
deliverance ...
salvation.
This Christmas I pray you experience the peace that comes from relationship with God through Christ. He came to break the bonds sin has on us ... to defeat death and open the door to life eternal. If you don't know Him, if you have never experienced this deliverance and peace that He provides, please email me {PleasingtoYou (at) comcast (dot) net} ... I'd love to share with you the freedom you can have in Christ.

I think we may be thinking from the same brain. :-) I'm so LOVING the peace in this storm of Christmas when the rest of the world is crazy.
Focusing on peace is such a great reminder this busy week! Thank you!
