{Best of ...} It's Quiet in my House
{Written one sweet morning, this post captures how I feel about that tender early morning time I share with the Lord.}
It's quiet in my house.
I am wrapped up in my favorite quilt. Everyone else is still asleep.
I can hear the cars moving outside but they are few. The quiet glow of the laptop screen is the only light and the clicking of the keys as I type creates a steady rhythm that soothes me.
It's quiet in my house.
In an hour it will be chaos.
"Where's my bookbag?" "What's my snack?" "What time is it?" "We need to go ... NOW!"
But right now, it's quiet in my house.
I am wrapped up with gratitude for all the joy and blessing in my life. Surrounded by people and things that remind me of the God that has given His very best ~ His only, dearly loved Son ~ for me, though I am so unworthy of such a gift. So I will wait a few more minutes before waking them up ... and savor the sweetness of sitting in the presence of God.
It's quiet in my house ... and I can hear the gentle breeze of God washing over me.

Pure bliss....
My quiet time is 9:00pm, since my 4 and 2 year old boys are up so early! Love your description of your quiet moments.
Quiet. A rarity. Your description is perfect! I can see why it's your favorite!
Oh.my.yes.
LOVE that serene calm...and the way you described it - magnificent!
Great choice for your favorite post! I loved this when I read it the first time and I love it even more now! Thanks for the heads-up about Sarah Mae's link, by the way!
Just reading this calms me.
I very rarely carve out time in my 'busy' life for just Jesus and me. It's high time I change that. Your description of your early mornings with Him have me longing for that sweet peace for myself.
Thank you.
Stillness wrapped in His arms of love. Beautiful.
Beautiful post! I don't think you have written a single thing I didn't love to read!
Quiet and solitude, two of my favorite things for all the reasons you've so beautifully described here...
Great thoughts! I love the quiet morning too. I am working my way back to it after having a baby 11 weeks ago. Early is really hard when you are sleep deprived!
Blessings,
Stacey
